Opening Night Gala Events
November 6, Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 pm
On Friday evening from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm, we will be having our opening night celebration at the Historic Manor Inn, at 265 Charlotte Street. Join us for a magical evening of sumptuous hors d’oeuvres provided by Laurey’s Catering and Gourmet To Go , Tomato Jam Cafe, Roots Cafe, Wild Indigo Catering, Posana, and yummy desserts by Short Street Cakes. The night’s events will include a showing of select short films; engaging music by the talented guitarist, John Cook; and personal caricatures by artist, Brent Brown. This very unique and special evening will be hosted by MC and master puppeteer, Madison J. Cripps, who will also entertain us with a wild and wacky marionette performance. All proceeds from the event go to benefit Little Pearls, www.littlepearls.org and Asheville International Children’s Film Festival, www.aicff.org. $50 per person for this one-of-a-kind benefit extravaganza. Family Pancake Costume Breakfast Bash
November 7, Saturday Breakfast at 8:00 am -9:30 am

- an all-you-can-eat pancake and bacon breakfast. Juice, coffee, and milk will be on hand to wet your whistle. The price of the breakfast also includes admission to our first screening, and breakfast entertainment. Look for us at the Savoy Restaurant parking lot on Merrimon Ave. Parking at Asheville Pizza & Brewing. After our tasty breakfast, we will be having a costume 2 block, parade to Asheville Pizza & Brewing for the movie which starts at 10:00 am.

An introduction to animation will teach kids how to create flip books and Thaumatropes to make their characters move.

Create and publish your own animated story using GoAnimate. No drawing is required. You’ll choose a GoAnimate theme and cast for your animation and create your animated story by adding scenes, props, action, and much more.
