Asheville International Children’s Film Festival

Schools are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before the film starts. There will be a choice of 5 screenings to choose from.

On My Way

The kids in these films are growing up fast, expanding their horizons and learning about the world as they tackle everything from bad hair days to much more complicated problems. This program shows the daily dramas, dreams and decisions made by kids in Iran, Mexico, Sweden, and the USA — and it even includes a film made by kids in Seattle.

Ages 8 and up. Total running time: 58 min
Three films have subtitles. Languages: Farsi, Spanish, Swedish.

On this cinematic voyage, you’ll hear stories from Madagascar, Mexico, Iran, Brazil, Palestine, India and Kenya, and meet real-life kids who are making the world a better place.

Ages 9 and up. Total running time: 77 min
Parental guidance suggested due to a brief moment of partial nudity in one film. Five films have subtitles.

Gather around for a high-spirited collection of Greek myths, African fables, Mexican and Brazilian legends, Hungarian folk tales and Irish yarns. You’ll be amazed by these bigger-than-life stories!

Grades 2-5. Total running time: 70 min. Four films have subtitles. Languages: French, Hungarian, Poruguese, Purhepecha and Spanish.

This program is tailor-made for the festival’s youngest viewers with colorful films filled with sweet animals, cheerful music and gentle stories.

This program is filled with films
that are musical, funny and full of adventure. These films are meant to help kids celebrate the special moments of life and find out what real heroes are made of.
Grades 2-5. Running time: 60 min.
Two films have subtitles. Languages:
